I began this unit by searching for three songs to cover with someone else, I haven't yet chosen any songs.

Targets for next lesson
By next lesson I will have the three songs and will start with the first one.

17/05/16
In today's lesson I performed my first song 'Ordinary people' by John Legend and got feedback from Matt and Chime, the both agreed that I should just project my voice so what I sing comes out a lot clearer.

Targets for next lesson
Be confident with my first song and then start on my second song.

24/05/16
In today's lesson I searched for my second song and tried to decide on one with an acoustic background.

Targets for next lesson
For next lesson I would like to of found my next song and by then I be somewhat confident with it as I would've gone over it in my singing lesson

Today I went to learn how to use all of the equipment in the recording studio for when I record my three completed songs.

14/06/16
This lesson I went through how to set up in the studio for when I record my set.

21/06/16
Today I went through the whole of my set in front of Matt and Chime and the gave me good and critical feedback. They told me that I was good at projecting my voice and made my words clear. They told me that I could work on my breathing a bit more.

28/06/16
Today I went into the recording studio and recorded two of my songs, 'Ordinary people' and 'If I ain't got you'.

5/07/16
In today's lesson I sang in front of Chime and performed my whole set to see if it all came up to around 15 minutes and it did. Next lesson I need to record the rest of my songs in the studio.

19/07/2016
For the last lesson I just went through my set and checked that it went up to 15 minutes which it did.

  1. Please now do a blog entry where you have researched and thought about what it will be like to perform in a studio. What is the difference between live performance and studio performance and the different pressures of working in a studio environment?
Read the criteria at the top - you also need to do 1.1 a, b, c - personal aims etc.
Explain your repertoire and reasons for these choices thinking about the recording performance environment.
